Explain in your own words the concept and one of its risks.
A blockchain is the ledger shared by the network, and a wallet is a tool to manage access and actions on the network.
Assets are recorded on the network; the wallet helps manage the keys. An address is used to receive assets, while a private key allows authorizing actions. A recovery phrase can restore access: anyone who obtains it could control the assets. Never share it here or with a support representative.
A public address is like a street address that lets you receive a delivery; a private key is not a detail you give to the sender. This is an analogy only, not a full explanation of the technology.
Explain in your own words the concept and one of its risks.
A public address can identify a transfer destination; a private key or recovery phrase grants a very different kind of control. Do not publish these secrets in screenshots or send them to “support.” Using an address on the wrong network can also cause problems. In a paper exercise, label destination details, network and signing authority separately, without real keys or any transfer of funds.
Concepts that help you compare
Crypto: What Is Bitcoin?
A cryptographic asset is a digital asset that operates using cryptographic rules and a network of computers. Bitcoin and Ethereum are different projects. Crypto is not a share in a company and is not a bank-guaranteed balance. Its price can change sharply; there are risks of fraud, custody, and liquidity. You can lose the entire amount.
Comparison example: An asset that rose by 20% can later fall by 40%. The previous rise does not protect against loss.
Crypto safety includes keeping secrets, vetting services and understanding actions that are not easy to reverse. Gifts that require sending funds first, support representatives who ask for a recovery phrase, and pressure to buy “before they fly” are warning signs. Sending to a wrong address can be irreversible. Even a currency called “stable” is not a guarantee of preserving value.
Comparison example: A message offers to send one coin and receive two. Do not send money to test whether the promise is real.
